Brokers are a `bunch of mis-sellers` says National Homebuyers

Industry = Real Estate

Press Release Summary = Brokers who sell short-term fixed-rate deals to their
clients are nothing more than a \"bunch of mis-sellers\", according to a housing
economist.

Press Release Body = John Wriglesworth believes that short-term fixed-rate deals are
dangerous in the current economic climate as expected rises in interest rates could
leave homeowners whose arrangements have come to an end struggling financially when
they are forced onto a standard variable rate alternative.

He also criticised homeowners for failing to search for the best long-term deals,
rather than simply opting for the cheapest headline rate.

Too many brokers were taking advantage of the fact that many consumers \"cannot see
past the end of their noses and will always go for the cheapest fix\", Mr
Wriglesworth said at the recent Manchester Mortgage Business Expo, Mortgage
Introducer reports.

However, it has also been suggested that lenders are just as much to blame - after
all, they introduce the products for brokers to sell.

This has led analyst Paul Hunt to declare in the same publication that \"taking a pop
at intermediaries in isolation is unfair\".

The fact remains, though, that repossessions are on the rise as a result of people
coming off fixed-rate deals only to find they have to pay significantly more to
service their mortgages.

Homeowners facing problems with their mortgage arrangements should speak to fast
purchase property firm, National Homebuyers. Director Julian King says, \"We have
been saying for months that the broker\'s ability to arrange 8-times salary mortgages
is ludicrous.\"

\"We already speak to thousands of people who need a quick sale of their home because
they cannot afford repayments.

\"Add to this the number of people who will come out of their fixed-rate deals into a
world of high interest rates and we predict that the already record-breaking number
of repossessions will augment further.\"

National Homebuyers helps homeowners who are facing repossession with a quick sale
or sell and rent back solution. Further information about the Sussex-based company\'s
property solutions to those facing repossession or financial difficulty is available
